Admission Requirements: The DBA is designed for people who have achieved or expect to achieve, senior organisational positions and/or who wish to enhance their analytical and research skills and knowledge. A master's degree: applicants should have a master's degree in a subject that has aspects that relate to business and/or management. +3 years' management experience: all applicants should have a minimum three years' managerial experience. Admission Requirements: You are expected to be engaged as a professional in education and as such the preferred route for the study is part-time. However, if you can make a compelling case for your likely success at completing the program in a shorter, more intensive fashion, and are engaged in full-time employment then you may be considered for full-time study. The course equates to 540 credits, of which up to 60 may be M Level credits. To be accepted onto the course you will normally have achieved these credits through study at master's level or through an equivalent qualification such as a postgraduate diploma or certificate in an education or research methods-based program, usually within the last five years and have at least two years professional experience in a relevant field. If you have yet to achieve this amount of level 7 credits then you could complete the required amount by studying two modules on our MA Education programme. This means you have advanced standing of 60 M level credits towards the EdD. In some circumstances, you may be accepted with other experience or qualifications or involvement in educational research activity. There is an informal interview for all applicants but you are expected to give considered answers to questions concerning your: Past educational experience Views on the relationship of research to practice Potential ideas for original research Reflections on your own ontological and epistemological stance The team will reach a decision on the application based on a judgement as to our ability to satisfactorily support the area of study or approach to research you seek to pursue. Admission Requirements: A minimum of two GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above including English language and maths. Key Skills/Functional Skills Level 2 in Communication and Application of Number can be accepted in place of English and Maths GCSE. A minimum of 54 UCAS points which can be achieved through A level (or equivalent qualifications). Shortlisting criteria: your ability to complete all sections of the application form fully and correctly the level of all qualifications and grades are specified appropriate academic entry requirements achieved or predicted personal statement supportive of chosen course and demonstrates the uniqueness of the profession and the role satisfactory appropriate supportive references (academic/employer/character). Interview criteria - A mini multiple interview process is used as part of the selection process. This involves you moving through a series of three interview stations (approximately ten minutes per station). At each station you explore a different scenario and are measured against the six Cs and the following criteria, which has been mapped against the NHS Constitution: knowledge of chosen profession/career an appreciation of the demands of the course and chosen profession enthusiasm for the course/profession ability to communicate effectively both verbally and non-verbally a future for the specialism. If you are successful in both shortlisting and interview you receive a conditional offer which is subject to the following: evidence of achievement of the required academic qualifications a successful work-based risk assessment which will reflect the appropriate HEOPS recommendations. Find out more about all of the HEOPS standards an enhanced criminal history (DBS) check may be required for certain modules or placements which involve working with children and/or adults at risk. The DBS check is funded by the School of Health & Life Sciences, so you do not need to pay for this process satisfactory references.
