Academic Requirement

Entry Requirements: A recognised Masters degree with a significant research component, for example MPhil from another university, or similar qualification which is regarded by the University of Brighton as being equivalent and relevant. Or substantial appropriate research or professional experience at postgraduate level which resulted in published work, written reports or other appropriate evidence of accomplishment. An application made by someone with this experience will be considered on its merits and will normally require independent academic references. Or, unless a school exercises their right to specify more stringent entry requirements, we may consider a first or upper second honours degree or other qualification which is regarded by the University of Brighton as being equivalent and relevant. English language requirements: IELTS:  7.0 overall, 7.0 for writing and no component below 6.5

Academic Requirement

Entry Requirements: Applicants are normally required to hold a first degree, or equivalent, gained in the last 10 years with a minimum of 2:1 classification in a related subject such as biological, biomedical, behavioural, sports, exercise or health sciences or health professional education other than physiotherapy. Knowledge of the physiotherapy profession and experience of health or social care related professional practice, will be an advantage. EU and International students must have equivalent qualifications and English language qualification in line with University regulations for postgraduate studies and HCPC requirements. Entry to the course is conditional upon satisfactory clearance; enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service and health screening. Successful applicants will be invited to attend an interview. We have limited places so it is advisable to apply early to be considered for one of these dates. If the course fills the available places we will not hold later interviews. If you receive an offer you will have six weeks to accept it. After this point we may offer your place to another candidate. Make sure that you submit your final transcript, evidence of any physiotherapy work experience and two references. English language requirements: IELTS 7.0 overall, with no element below 6.5; or equivalent qualification.

All applicants should provide a full description of any research projects undertaken, relevant work experience and non-academic qualifications. ATAS Requirements: The JACS code for this course is B900, meaning that students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland will have to apply for an Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) certificate before they apply for a visa. Academic Requirement

Entry Requirements: A-levels: ABB to include biology, human biology or PE. BTEC Extended Diploma: DDM. Sport and exercise preferred. Students with a BTEC in a different subject should also have an A-level in biology or human biology at grade B. International Baccalaureate: 32 points, with three subjects at Higher level. Access to HE Diploma: A QAA-recognised Access to Science course which must include biological science. Pass with a total of 60 credits, 45 of which must be at level 3 (at least 30 distinctions and 15 merits), the remaining 15 credits will be at Level 2. Candidates should normally have GCSE maths and English language grade C or grade 4, or an equivalent qualification. T-level: Distinction in the Health, Healthcare Science or Science T-level. Other T-levels are not accepted. Foundation degree: Considered on individual merit, but a high standard pass (70%) is required. GCSE (minimum grade C or grade 4): At least three subjects to include English language and maths. Other qualifications: We accept a range of other qualifications but they must be  equivalent to Level 3 and contain the appropriate amount of science content. The CACHE Diploma, for example, is not accepted as it does not fulfil the subject-specific science requirements. The following additional requirements apply to this course: evidence of commitment to the profession completion of at least one week of work experience in a physiotherapy setting, preferably in either the NHS or other hospital setting passing of occupational health and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks ability to meet travel requirements to attend placements students from outside the UK will be required to provide a police check from their home country. A-levels must include maths and a physical science. BTEC must include further maths for engineering techs. International Baccalaureate: 26 points, with three subjects at Higher level. Access to HE Diploma: Pass with 60 credits overall. Level 3 units in maths and a physical science required. At least 45 credits at level 3, with 24 credits at merit or above. GCSE (minimum grade C or grade 4): At least five GCSEs, subjects must include English language, maths and a science. Foundation degree/HND: May enable you to start the course in year 2. Foundation course: Foundation course containing maths and a physical science, with an average of at least 55%.
