California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB) provides 7,500 students an opportunity to study a variety of disciplines. With six academic colleges, each delivering degrees, minors and other academic offerings to explore, the university currently offers 25 undergraduate degrees with over 30 included concentrations, more than 30 minors, nine graduate degrees and several teacher certification options.

    Academic Requirement

    Academic Requirements:
    High school diploma equivalent or certificate of graduation. The equivalent of a 2.40 Grade Point Average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale in high school.
    Official high school transcript (official record of marks/scores/grades).
    National Test Scores (if required by home country).
    SAT or ACT scores required for students who graduate from a US high school or a US accredited international school.
    Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) credit accepted but not required.
    13th year of high school - Students who come from countries where standard pre-university education is 13 years (ex. Norway) may earn a maximum of 30 semester units of university-level credit for coursework and/or exams passed in their 13th year.

    English Proficiency Requirements:
    IELTS: 6.0
    TOEFL iBT: 61
    TOEFL PBT: 500
    Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE): 45
    3 years of English: If a freshman or transfer applicant has attended a high school or college in the U.S. for three or more years, or has attended a high school where English is the principal language of instruction for three or more years, the TOEFL or other English language proficiency exam is not required.
    Transferring English (A2) credit: Students can meet the English proficiency requirement by transferring credit from a community college or 4-year university that meets the CSUMB General Education Area A2 (Written Communication) requirement.
    Other standards: If you are applying to CSUMB through an agency or a partner university, there may be other ways that you can meet the English Proficiency requirement that are outlined in CSUMB's agreement with your agency or university.     Academic Requirements:
    There is no direct entry BSN program at CSUMB. All entering students must be graduates of an Associates Degree in Nursing program (ADN) and hold a current California Registered Nursing license.
    Overall GPA of 2.75
    Official high school transcript (official record of marks/scores/grades).
    National Test Scores (if required by home country).
    SAT or ACT scores required for students who graduate from a US high school or a US accredited international school.
    Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) credit accepted but not required.
    Must have a cleared background check that is acceptable to clinical agencies after acceptance to the BSN program.

    English Proficiency Requirements:
